Esa Williams is a London-based South African producer, DJ, and sound designer whose work bridges continents, cultures, and sound worlds. Known for blending electronic and organic elements, Esa crafts a sonic language that feels both deeply rooted and forward-looking. Born and raised in Cape Town, Esa channels his South African heritage and global experiences into his music, creating immersive soundscapes that defy easy categorisation. After relocating to the UK, he became a resident at Glasgow’s iconic Sub Club and established himself as one of Europe’s most forward-thinking artists, celebrated for his dynamic DJ sets and boundary-pushing productions.

Beyond the dancefloor, Esa has made his mark as a sound designer, contributing to a range of acclaimed audio documentaries, including an independent project investigating rhino horn poaching and, most recently, the award-nominated Audible documentary Cursed, which exposes the realities of human trafficking through powerful storytelling and sound. In 2025, Esa continues to expand his creative universe. He’s been touring with his Afro-synth band featuring South African legend Kamazu, bringing a vibrant live experience that reimagines classic township sounds for a new generation. Looking ahead, he’s preparing to release his first full-length collaborative LP in 2026, an ambitious project that fuses his diverse influences into a bold new chapter of his musical journey.
